Sooo Im back in track now, its been two weeks since practice starts and these two weeks have been hellish for me. But it feels good to be back, I've gotten precociously better. I feel alive again and I can now walk up the stairs without getting a heart attack.

I'll share some pics of me from previous seasons.

This is me in the black and blue in spring track last year (March/April 2008). Notice how I have everything longer (longer hair, sleeve, shorts etc.) and the guy on my left had a head start.

This is my blurry pic when I was racing in winter indoor track meet back in December 2008. (Yeah those shorts are awfully tight)

I'm also trying to break my PR (personal records) in my meets this season, or else I'll leave HS with regrets. But other than that I'm lookin' foward for my last track season in high school before I hit college now, hopefully it'll be another great experience.

...and hopefully I'll win races this time!! xD

Ever heard of Peterpan?

No, not the Disney character Peter Pan...

But the Indonesian rock band Peterpan

(From left to right: Uki, Ariel, Loekman, Reza)

Even if you can't understand Indonesian, you should listen to them. I've been listening to them a lot lately, I have new respects for this band. They've been around since 1999 I think, with four current members: Ariel (Vocals, guitar), Loekman (Guitar), Uki (Guitar, Bass) and Reza (Drums). They created songs we know and love such as Ada Apa Denganmu, Mungkin Nanti, Menghapus Jejakmu, Topeng and much more. They're finishing an album supposedly coming at October... but its November now. Not much news came from the band, but hopefully it'll come soon.

Where are my Indonesians at?!?

I've been listening to Crash Love lately

Its worth of listen.
I think its a great album, different perspective and direction. Its just lack of Davey Havok's rage. But other than that, its pretty darn good. AFI has never failed to impress me.

You should listen to it with your ears.

Dammit why won't my Jade Puget GIF work?

Monday, August 24, 2009

Medicate, AFI's first single off of the new album first premieres today at 7 a.m PT (10 a.m here in the east coast) at the Kroq radio station. God woke me up exactly at 10 a.m, just to listen to the premiere. As soon as I woke up, I grabbed my iPod, tune to Kroq and Medicate blew my underpants off of my bed. Jade Puget's back with a powerful solo.

They had a small interview with Davey Havok on the phone after the song ends, he was at Germany at this time but they revealed some interesting facts about AFI, Blaqk Audio and Crash Love. Medicate will be released in iTunes tomorrow, 8/25/09.

CLICK HERE to listen to the song.

AFI reveals most of the song titles for their upcoming album, Crash Love, on their official website.

The site would need certain amount of Tweets from fans to reveal more song titles, fans (including myself) are desprately tweeting for more song titles. I guess this is a smart way of AFI to promote their upcoming album.

I've known most of these song titles, some are new to me, like "Sacrilege" and "Darling, I Want To Destroy You".

Ok, Warped Tour was astonishingly an amazing event. I heard new amazing bands that I wasn't familiar with their work, and it makes me want to listen to them more. Now there were some unexpected things happened when I was there.

Here's what I was expecting:
  • Six stages
  • Bands playing one at a time
  • Foods and Drinks
  • Gates open 90mins earlier before the event starts
  • Mosh & Circle pits

Here's what was unexpected:
  • Bands playing simultaneously
  • Gates open exactly when the event starts (I had to wait 90mins in line!)
  • Me in a mosh pit (unbelievable)
  • Band merches
  • Band members came out stage and greets the crowd
  • Took pictures with band members
  • Alcohol drinks (should've known)
  • I got sunburned (ruined my senior pic)

Picture Thursday: Warped Tour pics

These aren't all the bands I saw but these are some of them.

Ivy League

Attack! Attack! The screamer of this band was nice enough to come down the stage and took a picture with me, im not gonna post it up here cuz I look mightly horrible.

Underoath

Escape the Fate. The drummer of this band threw an autographed drum head to me and some idiot snatched it out of my hands.

Senses Fail

A Skylit Drive

Anti-Flag

Warped Tour tomorrow!
Its been a while for me going to concerts, the last concert I went was N'Sync concert back around 2001 in D.C. (School concerts doesn't count!) and I had limited view on the boys performing because I sat almost right behind the stage.
I'll try to post and share the Warped Tour pics here.

oh, I also have senior pictures on Wednesday, I better look stunning on my last school year picture.

"The Spoken Word"

We held hands on the last night on Earth
Our mouths filled with dust
We kissed in the fields and under the trees
Screaming like dogs and bleeding dark into the leaves
It was empty on the edge of the town
But we knew everyone floated along the bottom of the river
So we walked through the waste where the road curved into sea
And the shattered seasons lay
And the bitter smell of burning was on you like a disease
In our cancer of passion you said,
"Death is a midnight runner"

The sky had come crashing down like the news of an intimate suicide
We picked up the shards and formed them into shapes of stars
That wore like an antique wedding dress
The echoes of the past broke the hearts of the unborn
As the ferris wheel silently slowed to a stop
The few insects skittered away in hopes of a better pasttime
I kissed you at the apex of the maelstrom and asked,
If you would accompany me in a quick fall
But you made me realize that my ticket wasn't good for two
I rode alone

You said,
"The cinders are falling like snow"
There is poetry in despair and we sang with unrivaled beauty
Bitter elegies of savagery and eloquence
Of blue and grey
Strange, we ran down desperate streets and carved our names
In the flesh of the city
The sun has stagnated somewhere beyond the rim of the horizon
And the darkness is a mystery of curves and lines
Still, we lay under the emptiness and drifted slowly outward
And somewhere in the wilderness we found salvation
Scratched into the Earth like a message...
